May 20: A Day of Freedom and Family
On this day—May 20, 2011—North Korean refugee Han Song-mi reached freedom after a dangerous escape through China, Laos, and Thailand. She arrived in South Korea on her mother’s birthday, making it a day of double significance: a reunion of family and a triumph of freedom.
