🛫 Fundraiser for FSI’s 2026 Trip to Poland
Goal: Raise funds to support our participation in the 2026 Warsaw International Book Fair
Why it matters:
Freedom Speakers International (FSI) will be sharing our mission
and the voices of North Korean refugee authors at one of Europe’s
largest book fairs. This is a rare opportunity to connect with
global publishers, readers, and new allies in the heart of
Europe.
📚Support the voices that deserve to be heard — help us turn pages toward freedom.
Help Us Bring a Fourth North Korean Refugee Author to the 2026 Warsaw International Book Fair
From May 13 to 23, 2025, three North Korean refugee authors traveled to Poland as part of Freedom Speakers International’s (FSI) global outreach. They spoke at the University of Warsaw, visited the Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial, and shared their books and stories at the Warsaw International Book Fair.
The reaction from visitors was overwhelming. Attendees wept, applauded, returned the next day with gifts, and expressed admiration for the refugee authors’ courage. The organizers were so moved that they invited FSI to return in 2026 as a VIP guest.
We are planning our return—and this time, we want to bring a fourth refugee speaker to join the delegation. We are now in the process of editing her manuscript and plan to publish her memoir by the end of 2025.
✈️ Why We’re Raising $5,000
Three authors—Songmi Han, Sharon Jang, and Yeongnam Eom (Ken)—are already confirmed to return. With your support, we can fully fund one more North Korean refugee to share their voice on the international stage.
Your donation will help cover:
- ✈️ Round-trip airfare from Korea to Poland
- 🏨 10 nights of hotel accommodations
- 🚕 Ground transportation, meals, and travel insurance
Estimated cost: $5,000 USD
🎯 Amplify One More Voice
You’ve seen what happens when North Korean refugee authors speak directly to the world: barriers fall, compassion rises, and healing begins.
Help us empower one more refugee to stand beside them in Warsaw in 2026.
