Here's a translation of what North Korean refugee Sharon Jang wrote on her Social media announcing the forthcoming publication of her memoir published by FSI Publishing.

"Just a while ago, it was so difficult to write even a line or two ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ
Now, my book has been completed like this ๐Ÿ“š and soon can be read~
The story I wrote down like a diary wasn't necessarily to help someone else but rather to heal my own traumas...

If by chance, someone living a life similar to mine happens to read this book, I hope it becomes a source of comfort for them~

I believe there's no such thing as an easy life.
But as long as we don't give up and live each day, I think there will be a better tomorrow than today~

I think I've had these thoughts a lot~ ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

"This too shall pass."
"A better tomorrow will come than today."
"I'll keep going even if the ๐Ÿ• barks."

Bravo to you for getting through another day today~"

I am Casey Lartigue, chairman of Freedom Speakers International.

Sharon Jang began her escape from North Korea in 2011 and arrived in South Korea in 2012. In early 2015, she reached out to me expressing her desire to learn English. That marked the beginning of a beautiful partnership with Freedom Speakers International (FSI). Over the years, Sharon has been an English language student and Keynote Speaker sharing her story, and has also grown within the organization, starting as a part-time staff assistant and rising to the role of accountant.

As we celebrate Sharon's nine years with FSI and get prepared to celebrate our 10th year together, we are filled with gratitude for the shared experiences and the impact she has had on our organization. She is now taking on a new role as our third North Korean Refugee Author Fellow.

Operating within the highly politicized field of North Korea, FSI recognizes the need for careful communication and interaction with North Korean refugees. Things are more sensitive for an American like myself who is known in this field. Cultural differences, potential misunderstandings, varying perspectives, and memories of propaganda from the North Korean government can create tensions and challenges when engaging with North Korean refugees.

In the nine years of our partnership with Sharon, we have never encountered a single problem. Our communication has always been open and honest, fostering a level of trust that is truly inspiring. Even when there have been issues to talk out, we have done so in a mature and respectful way.

Sharon's e-book will soon be available through Amazon so please purchase it there.
